well everyones saying about how bad it was when they were selling their car so....why not kill time

tell about the day you got your car

was getting sick of my 1994 bonneville... and was really exicted about getting a TC cause i liked the way they looked and sounded and the fact that the car would be stick
so im at carmax with my dad getting it appriased and i walk out the door and i look for the Tc's... first thing that catches my eye...a silver 06 Si... my dad works at carmax so he just took out his key to the little lock box on the window and said sit inside see how it feels... so i take the key from him and start it up and LOVE the way it sounds when it started...and the way the spoiler looked along with how the seats felt... my dad said ok shut it off and lets go look at the tc that youve been talking about for the last 2 months
... i say ok fine...i go sit in the TC for about a seconed and say nope dont like how the seats feel... he just stares at me and said fine... what about the stupid cobalt that you were talking about (Cobalt SS SC) but they only had the base model cobalt.. he made me sit in it just to show me how much they sucked... (i had posters of the SS SC all over my room (along with posters of vettes) so then he sees a G6 i look at it...seemd nice so i sat it in felt nice but was freaking hudge felt like a boat just like the bonneville... so i look at my dad and say you know that civic felt really nice.... he said ok lets go look at it again and see how much you like it still... i walked back over to the Si.. i remeber it was parked right next to a white Si coupe and about 5 cars to the left there was a blue 03 Si that looked like a mini van lol and i sit in both the silver and white Si.. they were both the same price(both fully loaded except for Navi) with same things except the white one had about 10k more miles so i said "hey dad....i love you" he just laughed and said ok fine...so i waited for about a good hour or 2 just sitting around waiting for my dad to get off of work and he decided to keep the bonneville cause it runs great only 50k miles and sold his montero sport... i just sat there in the waiting room... taking pictures and sending them to my friends...my dad walks out.. i jump up...he laughes and says wait a little bit longer after about another 30 mins of waiting he comes back and says ok... lets go home
i go to head to the driver side door and he laughes and says woah woah woah your not driving it home

i look at him like what??!!! its my car
he started at me and said do you even know how to drive stick shift... i said kind of and laughed

he said "im driving" so i sat there in the passenger seat upset that he got my car up to 90 the day we got it and didnt even let me drive it except for the last 1/2 mile home which the speed limit was 30 = (

so he pulls over in a parking lot and says ok your turn... i say finally! jump in the driver seat and it feels great... i put it into first and dump the clutch at about 3k (keep inmind that i knew kind of how to drive stick but not excatly) and the tires chirped and i turn out of the parking lot... my dad just gives me a dirty ass look and i smiled... for that 1/2 mile i didnt even grind a gear or stall it (except for reverse parking forgot car was in gear)

cobalt-X
Tc-X
G6-X
Si- = )

i didnt even test drive the Si and i knew i wanted it.. i never really liked the civics before or even hondas.. but now when im driving with my friends in the Si and the Vtec kicks in my friend with the 04 Cobra/Srt-8 Jeep and my friend with a WRX get a smiles on their faces it makes me happy i got the Si... that and the fact i can chirp my tires in 3rd lol

Story for my current car - got sick of driving the civic in the snow and getting stuck everywhere, always wanted an AWD turbo car. Went and checked out some used WRX's and thought about a used STi if the price was right. Found one that seemed too good to be true at a dealer near me. Went up to the dealer and asked to see the STi. Was told it was all stock....not true when I got there. Lots of aftermarket stuff, and not all done to a good level. Wanted to start it and see what was up. They tried to start it and the battery was dead. They got the jump box out and the car still wouldn't start. The salesguy at that time said "oops, it's not prepped for sale yet" So I started to walk to my car to leave and he asked what I would do if I could buy an 08 for the same price(as the 05 STi I was looking at). I said, ehhhhh haven't researched them at all, guess it can't hurt to test drive it at least. Fell in love with it when the salesman let me drive it in an open field full of fresh snow to try out the awd. I gave him the keys when we got back to the dealer and said I need to research it a bit(hadn't looked at the 08's at all)...went back the next week and traded my 07 Civic EX 5 sp w/navi for the 08 WRX.:bigthumb:

was driving for a bit an 02 sable ls with the duratec motor that was my parents 3rd car. it's nice and comfy and at the same time my dad had the sebring that he ordered as a company car. the deal with the company car was that after 3 years, he got to buy it from the company for 10% of the original purchase price.

So my dad wanted the sable after the three years b/c it was more comfy and his co workers didn't complain about the back seat as much...
So my parents bought the car for $2700 2 winters ago and gave it to me as a premature college grad gift, and now my dad drives the sable.
I liked it b/c it was the "sportiest" car my family has ever owned and b/c it was fully loaded, and that it was mine.

so that's why I drive a sebring sedan.

First Car:

Had saved up a little bit of spare money, and some graduation money and went out car shopping. I wanted something half-way quick for fun since after Riding in syP's GTP I was hooked on faster cars. I found out about the SHO Taurii, and joined some of their message boards to read more about them.

I test drove a few 'generic' cars, a small dodge van, a 92 V-6 dodge shadow, and a few others IIRC. finally decided I wanted a SHO, Test drove 3 all 3 were white ironically, and I bought the third one.

first: 98 suburban.. parents were looking for a camper puller, our astro has no problems pulling our 25', but.. it swayed going down the road even with dual torque arms.. in comes the suburban. they told me to keep gas in it and pay half ins./car payment and it was "mine." simple enough.

second.. mom works next town over, she seen a ford escort for $800.. bought it that night.. since the burban was being sold due to gas costs/parts from me being a moron
crashed it two days later..

third.. family friend goes to auto auctions and resales cars.. found me a pontiac which i wanted since i was young.. always liked the bonnes. took it for a test drive and bought it.

the impala.. bonne was broke, i wanted something that was more reliable/newer/handled better/bigger inside/more fuel efficient, i'd liked the impalas for a long time.. soooooo i figured "i'll look at them" .. came across the white one in my sig, first car i looked at.. we ended up buying it after looking for two days after that.

Ok so I remember back when I was 16 my friends parents had a GS and a GSE. I drove them and loved them... Here it is years later I decided I will get one for myself. It absolutely had to be a Black GS with low mileage.
I went to every single dealer and they kept trying to sell me GTP's. I did not want one. This would be my first really expensive car and I wanted to get what I wanted. No less.
I was on every dealers waiting list for one that would come in. Never happened. I checked autotrader online pretty much every day. Found a few, called and they were already sold.
Then I found one with 32,000 miles at a dealer. I went right away and test drove it. Parked it in the dealerships shop. Well I was making a deal on it and the salesman walked out and came back and said sorry, someone just bought it. I was pissed.
So a couple more months came by. I was working in Hoffman Estates and I was on my way home and saw my car parked out in front of a dealership. I slammed on the brakes, turned into the parking lot and asked them how many miles. Guy says 16,000. I'm like 16 or 60???
So I put a deposit down and bought it the next day. The good thing is I got it for the price of the one with 32,000 miles.

Wanted a cl-S or IS300 but they were too new at the time to fit into my budget

Really really wanted my dads 96 Impala SS, he was trading it it, but said it would be too much of a temptation to speed... so i looked at gtps which are 1 sec faster in teh 1/4 LOL

anyways, couldnt find a gtp to save my life, not even one for a couple months that was less than 20k /// went to gartner buick over by fox valley and looked around, sales guy said take a look at teh GS over here, test drove it and saw the boost gauge and was like WTF

next day bought the gs, had that for almost 8 years... knew larry for almost 5 with this gs, he helped me mod my old white one with its very first mod, an open cone intake

larry was selling this car over the summer and really needed to move it, luckily i knew him and he helped me out and let me give him a down payment and held onto the car until I could get the rest of the money and sell my old car

finally ended up with this regal in september and love it... wish i had a winter beater or something but oh well... just gotta tune for mpgs and i'll forget the 3.69s suck for gas haha

The day I bought my first car was hell. My mom took me to every crappy ass used car lot in our area and we didn't find shit. Finally when we decided we were done we were driving through a town near where I used to live. I spotted a Civic hatch that I thought I might be interested in. I looked at the car and it was clean as sin. I went in and talked to the guy and he let me drive it. The car felt quick as fuck (Honda first gear :hs: and I was a noob) and it was solid. I convinced my mom to buy it for me and she did. I only bought the car initially because I thought my friends would think I was cool but I ended up loving the car to death. Then my noob ass blew the head gasket and I sold the car. :picard:
