Mystery Fuel Filter Goo

So today i was doing some prep work for tomorrows trip to byron. Decided to change the fuel filter and fix up some trim that was falling off. I was walking to dispose of the old filter when i tipped it on accident. This is what came out, it dried on the wall.

I'm assuming since it came out of the in end that its just the shit built up over the years. If anyone seems to see a red flag please tell me. I started the car up and she seems to run a lot better and doesn't have as lopy an idle as before.

the gas came out clear on the out side, so i'm going to chalk it up to being the shit that the filter blocked. It was just one of those moments that it just happened on accident and then i almost shit a brick. Then i thought about it and decided that the new filter will help immensely.

Looks like something was inside the gas tank at one point in time( sealer maybe) that came off.

My mino's filter ( stock canister filter) did that when I changed the fuel system. I had put sealer in the tank when I did the resto on it a few years prior.
