anyone know anything about balanceing an engine...

When the engine is balanced they are talking about the whole lower rotating assembly. Everything is weighed and matched to each other. The rods and pins are weighed and ground down to match the weight of the lightest rod and pin within a couple of grams. Then the same is done to the pistons and rings. The crank is spun on a machine to check its balance like getting your driveshaft balanced. A balanced engine means longer life and better high rpm stability.
