Clarkson hates just about anything, which is a reason why I don't watch top gear. meh

thats his thing...hate on everything...which is what makes top gear so enjoyable to watch. u dont honestly think he hates every single american car or whatever that comes out? hell, he owns, or has owned at least two ford gt's

All-new Sonata is still terrifyingly dull. Even worse, you can buy the Kia version (Magentis) for less money. Not that you'd want to, you just could. OK?
Nice enough, but doesn't sparkle enough even to snap at the heels of its European counterparts
Performance
When it comes to the Hyundai Sonata, there's a two-litre petrol with 143bhp, a 138bhp two-litre turbocharged diesel and a 3.3 litre V6 petrol with 232bhp. The diesel is smooth and refined, but the first three gears are very short meaning you run out of puff early on.

Driving
There's plenty of grip and tight bends doesn't unsettle it but there's too much body roll. The ride is firm but comfy.

Space
It's not wide so three on the rear bench might be a bit of a squeeze. Anyone over five-foot ten will find a lack of head room when sitting on the back seat.

Build Quality
The dash is made from four different but equally cheap plastics, including fake carbon fibre around the air con controls.

Equipment
Alloys, leather, an MP3 compatible CD player and air conditioning are standard.

Safety
The Sonata is fitted with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESP) and anti-lock brakes all as standard.

Owning
The depreciation will be crippling, losing 50 per cent of its value in three years. V6 is thirsty bu the diesel offers decent mpg.

Verdict
Modern and well-constructed for a budget Korean brand but there's still too much wrong to tempt buyers from their well-built Mondeos and Vectras.

"In fact, the PT Crusier seems so dated both inside and out that the inclusion of a new 2.4-litre petrol engine seems akin to defibrillating a cadaver."

Not a Top Gear Vid
