1995 z28 starting problem

A buddy I work with has a z28 that turned off while he was driving..he heard a pop and then it died....we towed it in and noticed the starter housing cracked and the turbine was broke but no damage to the flywheel..so he replaced the starter and it still wont start then we found nospark and replaced the distributer but not the cap and rotor..and it still wouldn't start so he replaced a throttle position sensor and she back fired a little but still nithing...I'm not a LT1 guy so I wanted to see what you guys think and let me know

The throttle position sensor wasn't replaced it was the ignition module

Lt1s have optispark. Its basically a horribly designed ignition. Id check there. Then check the wiring.

Where is the optispark located at?

Right under the water pump on the front of the motor

Is it in the cap and rotor?

You could consider it that.

Check all the fuses, relays and grounds. You found no spark so just work backwards checking everything.
