truck guys step in. what tire size for my burb for winter.

I need to get some tires for my burban for the winter...

i want to put 33s w/20s or 18s on at some point... but will only run those in the spring/summer/fall.


stock tire size is 245/75/16 or about 30.4 inches tall... edit. thanks dasfinc.... 245/75/16 not 245/75/16

Im thinking about going 235/85/16s... or about 32s...


i want to go 235s because narrower = better in the snow, as well as taller tire will look better, and since i drive pretty far mainly in the burb... get my rpms down at higher speeds= maybe pick up some mpgs...


most people go 265/75/16s to gain some height, as well as width.. and for looks... but I am thinking Id rather have the functionality of a narrower tire for the winter....

I'd go with 265's honestly, just get a good set of all-terrians IMO, and then run them all year till you get your 18s/20s. Is it a 2wd or a 4X4?

Truck tires are F'in expensive new... So buy used if you are going to have a winter set, and then the summer ones is my only recommendation I suppose.

265/75/16 is a good size tire for that truck, they will fill out the wheel wells nicely, and wouldn't look stupid on there if you ended up doing a small lift like you mentioned. I had that size on my 'burban and they looked great.
