4L60E swap question

My 02 silverado has 110k on it and the after plowing, hauling, and towing a decent amount I'm afraid it doesn't have much time left in this world. My plan is to swap the trans out of my SS and put it into my truck, and give the truck trans to FLT as a core for a built trans for the camaro.

They are both 4L60e's, but what differences are there with the truck being 4wd and having the transfer case on there? Will I just need a different output shaft or adapter or something?

i believe the only difference is the output shaft i know it is on the 700r4's vss is in the tcase on 4x4 and the tailhousing on 2wd

Besides some slight internal diffrences (not an issue due to the build up) they are identical, less the tailshaft and housing. You will still need to disassemble the whole trans to swap the tailshaft tho....

Disassemble the whole thing, fuck, i was hoping this would be an easy swap. Not sure if its really worth it then. Maybe Ill just put an FLT trans in the truck when it goes, and just keep the SS stock until it gives up.

its not exactly the 'whole' trans, but its just a drop in the bucket. you will need to swap tail shaft and output shafts.....maybe flt will help you out with it?

Well, flt doesnt do swaps, just builds trans', and the one going in the truck would be a low mile stocker out of the SS.

Gunna have to do something soon, trans went to downshift last night and completely slipped and bounced off the rev limiter.fml
