I know this is broad, but here I go

ranger started burning oil after I changed it's oil late last week, I went from 10-30 (cheap conventional since it had to get changes quickly anyways, to 5-20 per OEM, with motorcraft filter and synth blend oil, and apparently I adde like a quarter quart too much *jug was 5.28, didn't pay attention so I put that in plus 1/4th I had spare*

any suggestions aside from changing the oil, lol.

Since it sounds like you over-filled it, Try taking off the oil filter, drain it and put it back on. Run the engine and check the level. Depending on how over-filled it is will determine how many filter fulls you will need to drain.

Over-filling causes cavitation/foam and thus burning because it is being forced into the cylinders.
