97 eclipse gs-t problem once again..

ok so i was driving down a rode by my house and i was in 4th gear and i droped it to 3rd and got on it a little bit to cetch up with the flow of traffic and when i started pushing the pettle down and speeding up my rpm tac gage starting going crazy it started bouncing around..

and now my car will not start..the starter still cranks and the battery is not dead..

are you getting a check engine?
a) bad alternator is a possibility.
b) loose wire.
c) bad camshaft position sensor

there is no check engine light

Go with the basics. Check your plugs and wires

I mean make sure you have good connection.
Also, are you getting any fuel? Do you hear the fuel pump prime?

How many miles on it? has fuel filter been changed?

yes they were installed propely and the fuel pump is priming.

and the car as 63000 miles on it so i dont think the fuel filter needs a change yet

it was ALMOST starting yesterday..like it would sound like it would start for maybe a sec and then just make the starter noise again

Hard to say what it could be since your not getting a check engine.
I'm leaning towards a bad cam camshaft position sensor.
I had the same problem last year with the GSX

depends on where you can get it really. I got mine at an auto zone and it was around $70. I remember ranting about such a lil thing that's soooo simple and easy to replace costing so much.

does the tach show any rpm while your cranking it?

did it make any noise before it died? sounds like a cmp sensor, however, i ran into a case where the customer commented on some 'funny' noises, and the tach/speedo were acting up....and it had crank walked...lol....i doubt it's your issue tho

no the crank isnt walking cause when i push the clutch in its not making that ticking noise.. so

and the tack shows no rpm movent at all
