After a ~6 year hiatus from traffic court (where I was once well known), I've gotten a couple tickets in the past 8 months and going in to my next deferral, I'd prefer to not get another.

Definitely don't want to spend $400+ on a radar detector though

Anyone use the whistler CR90? Seems like it's decent for the price

this is one of the websites I've been looking at

been using Escort detectors for 15 years. Escort Max2 and 360 are $$$ but maybe you can pickup a cheap 9500xi too. The biggest disadvantage with cheaper detectors is lacking advanced logic to decipher signals. So more false alarms. Used to be automatic doors, but now new cars use radar sensors. I'm near the point of disabling K band entirely because its pretty bad. I can block doors and any non-moving fixed frequency, but I cant block the Acura in front of me blasting K band to replace mirrors and common sense

Sheesh surprised more of you aren't using a V1. I've had mine for about 15 years and can't imagine having another radar detector. It's been through a few software updates, of course, but performs excellent. I can count on one hand how many tickets I've had since I first bought it... (2 total, actually).

I've got a V1 that I never hooked up. Bought it years ago from a member here 01Sleeper. It's collecting dust. It's probably old technology by now. Lol

Cool thing about the V1s you just run the serial on their website and tells you what updates are available. You just send it in with whatever payment and they'll upgrade it to the latest build.

V1 here also. Works decently but false alarms are fucking crazy now with all these nanny assists on cars today.
