First Turbo Shelby GT350

Here it is. Hellions twin turbo GT350. No dyno numbers yet not until the show Engine Power TV airs this weekend.

“We decided to develop a GT350 system because a car of this magnitude definitely needs to be turbocharged!” John Urist, President of Hellion, explained. “Upon initial investigation we saw that our 2015-2016 GT kit would fit very well with a few changes, so we decided to turbocharge the Voodoo engine.”

The Hellion Eliminator twin-turbo system for the 2015-2017 Shelby GT350 is a bolt-on system that features two 55mm Precision turbos and two 46mm wastegates. While the system is visually similar to the company’s system for the 2015+ Mustang GT, this system was designed specifically for the new GT350’s exhaust.

“The system differs from a GT system in the location of the connection to the factory headers,” John said. “We have some different hot pipes, but the basic look of the system is the same.”

Not only does a turbo system not engage with the notoriously raucous flat-plane crankshaft, but it offers easily scalable boost should you be brave enough to turn up the wick on the 8,250-rpm Voodoo engine.

“We were successful at making great power with the 5.2 engine. We know you can boost it, but it needs to be done with the proper ECU tune that we will supply,” he said. “If everyone tunes into Engine Power on Sunday morning, they will be greatly impressed with the rear-wheel horsepower and they’re going to like the power curve even more!”
