Custom LCD gauge cluster for car?

This is pretty cool, I wonder how you feed data to it. The video display they show only has a mini HDMI cable going to the display, but nothing feeding the board.

If it was compatible with OBD1/2 streams that would be pretty sweet. You could just run a tablet for the cluster.

They only make those for OBD2. It seems the OBD1 units are spotty

I've got something relatively similar setup in my car. Bluetooth OBD to a tablet mounted in the car. Torque Pro is the app and I bought the expensive OBD thing so I wouldn't get any lag with lots of logging. Getting all the info that guy is displaying would almost certainly require installation into a car with CANBUS.

Your creativity is the only limiting factor on what gets displayed.
