Any down side to getting the 6.2 over the 5.3?? Is gas mileage any worse? Are they a lot harder to find? I know the 6.2 is a lot more power so I'm just looking for any reason not to look for one when I start looking for a truck.

we have a stripped standard cab short bed 2500hd at work and its a bad mofo
me personally would try to find a 1500... although does the 1500 still just have a 4l60 based something in it behind the 6.2?
i remember driving 09/10'ish escalades with the 6.2 and they go from 55 or so empty or trailering really fucking well.
All the 6.2's come with the 6L80. Not a bad trans for a truck. The 5.3's also come with a 6L80 after 10 as well. I'm not in a hurry to buy so I think I'm going to try to search for a 6.2. I'm hoping with the 2014's out the last gen will come down a little in price. I figure with a CAI and tune the 6.2 should be able to knock down decent mpgs?

Either 09 or 10+ were 6L80's as long as they had a V8.even in a older 1500 they had a 6l80?
13' with a 5.3 and 6l80 with 3.42's here. Damn good truck for hauling and towing. Currently bone stock getting 15mpg city and 29+ highway.
