WRX i might buy... have some questions...

2002 wrx

I'm looking at trading my foxbody plus a little $ for this.... anybody know this car? He's from Rockford area... Dark blue... modded... He's had it for about a year or so...

my biggest concern is the 5speed STi RA transmission - he doesn't have the paperwork for it as it was done by the previous owner... so how do I know for sure?

any info would be great - thanks!

I think the gear ratios are noticeably shorter for the RA trans. Not 100% sure tho

If you take it up to about 70mph in 5th and the tach is above 3500 rpms, it has RA gears

It might actually be closer to 3000 @ 70. I cant remember exactly where it sat on the highway. definitely somewhere in the 3-3500 range

Yes and no... I've read that some people will just do RA 1-4 and keep stock 5th... He doesn't know if the gears were done or the whole trans was swapped
