No reputable tire shop will. If you need winter traction to the max purchase winter tires

It's been around since the 50s. It barley if at all improves the tires flexibility and heat distribution. Mostly it is a profit gimmick. Like I said before if the snow really means that much for traction purchase snow tires

It really works. I'm the worlds biggest skeptic and for the money it's worth it.

Discount Tire did when I worked there a few years ago. I had it done to my tires and it worked pretty well.

I'm still sporting the stock replacement tires on my 2000 TA with probably 30% tread left. I'd like to buy a 4.10 gear and some ZR1 replica rims with 315's early in the spring. Having that said I don't have the money to get a proper set of blizzaks or xices so I'd like to make do with what I got.

I'm no expert but I can't imagine a 30% tread life remaining tire is going to see that much of an improvement from this service... Can't you buy some off brand rubber to make it through the season?

Buy those 205/55/16 tires in the FS section. Narrow is good for snow

My dad had this done to his new Conti DWS tires on his 540i and swears by it, but he's old school for sure. How much does this cost to get done? Haven't heard of this since the days guys were getting their solid block mudders siped.

I suppose I could but I want to get every last mile out of my tires before I junk em. They've worked fine for me the last 2 winters. Only difference this year is I have a full time job and have to hit the streets at 7am.

They may not even do it with so little tread left on them. I'm not positive on that but I doubt they'd want to be responsible for anything on used tires.

I wouldn't bother doing this to summer only tires.
The tread is too stiff and gets too hard in cold weather, so couldn't imagine siping would help much.

Get REAL winter tires if possible.

^ agreed... my Potenzas turn into hockey pucks in the cold. Winter tires are night and day difference.
