Vacuum.

Spray on carpet cleaner.

Brush to agitate.

Vacuum again.

Works for most carpets. If seriously destroyed, or if you are selling the car, grab a can of matching spray paint and paint it. Sounds weird but it will look new again.

What If you want to paint it black from a gray carpet, will it still work? Lol

God no, don't use spray paint to change a carpets color! They make dye's for that, though they don't always match, and don't seem to last.

Plus the cheaper stuff can start rubbing off on clothes and crap.
