I was looking to register the new vehicle in MI since my moms lives there. I tried searching there site to see what would have to be done. Any ideas of what I would need to do/bring?

Proof of residence would be a good guess. Possibly mich drivers license.

I don't think you need a state license to register your car but every state could be different. Just proof of residence is what most need. I still have an Illinois License and was able to register my 135i in Nevada with just a couple utility bills. Could you register the car in your moms name? That would probably be the easiest
