I think I blew a strut hitting a pothole in Chicago. This is a new experience for me. Any recommendations on where to go to to get it looked at in the Schaumburg Area?

Look at it yourself for free. Jack the car up, put a jack stand under it.Look at the strut itself for it leaking fluid. If not, grab the bottom of the tire and lift up, if you can move the strut by lifting the tire the strut needs replacement. Always do both if so and get a alignment right after. Otherwise, go to any Sears Auto center (Woodfield Malll)and ask for a suspension evaluation. Its free.... They will check your ball joints, struts, schocks,springs, tie rods, ends link sway bars etc.

^^^ what he said.. check it yourself. If you are uncomfortable My parents and sister use Wise Auto Clinic for their cars. Dave runs is the owner and operator there and is a good guy. Other than that I can offer my Garage if you need some tools to check it out.
