I am thinking my U bolts were not tight enough and the pin snapped and shifted the leafs.... If I pound it with a hammer and put a grade 8 allen headed bolt in there I should be golden.

Tackling this tomorrow guys, what would be the best way to do this? I was thinking of pulling the wheel, loosening the u bolts and tapping the slipped leafs back into line to drop in a new Ace hardware 5/16th or 3/8's allen cap bolt. Think that will work or will I need to go and buy some c clamps etc?

Can flex way better on leaf springs. A lot of guys convert their front ends to leafs

C clamps. I think drilling the leaafs after they're bent can cause them to crack around the hole.

I used the wrong lingo Rich. I meant like gently coax it in line with a hammer, not tap it with a tap and die set. You are correct though drilling the leaf is s no no I have read.
