Guys, Amy was driving her Concorde to work today and the driver's wheel turned on her when she was backing out of a parking spot. I initially thought the drive axle had broken or lost the clip but when I took a look, I found this. Mounting bracket broke and frame itself ripped. Can this be welded or replaced?

Thanks for the quick responses, guys.

I will probably end up taking the pics to a local shop and seeing what they recommend. I know there are a lot of good tech people on our site so I'm hoping for some guidance on what to discuss with the shop.

This is a '98 Chrysler Concorde. My tech manual doesn't cover this at all except for a bad pic or two so it's hard to see if the subframe can be replaced. Looks like it bolts in back but the front may be one solid piece.

Cliff you gotta ask yourself why this cracked in the first place. It appears that there was a decent amount of corrosion in that area. Though that area appears to be semi-reweldable by the pictures I would not bother to do so because the root problem will likely arise again in the near future elsewhere close by. Replace the whole subframe assembly if you can. Your wife got lucky that this broke without causing a catastrophic failure at high speeds.
