Using what we have learned about time attack racing we are tackling this car with a full head of steam. No Stone will be left unturned. In this thread I will start posting pictures of our EVO X as she is being torn down and rebuilt.

We will be competing at the Super Lab battle finals with the car on November 12th and then over the winter getting even more crazy with the build to compete as an unlimited time attack car for the entire 2009 Redline and Super Lap Battle time attack series'

On with the pictures!!!

Here was day one and two. This was literally the Monday after the car got back from the Fireball Run!

This day was all about tearing out unnecessary weight and finding new ways to replace heavy components with lighter custom ones.

The car as of Friday, October 10th

Here is where Ivan has the car after day Three four and Five...MAN This guy works fast.

We are test fitting a set of Seibon Carbon fiber doors for the car and we also have a super lightweight hood and trunk in the way from them. We should have that mid next week.

Prototype Composites makes our CF roofs for us and has been so kind as to make us a Custom Carbon Kevlar super lightweight version for this X. We get to lay our eyes on that on Tuesday with pics to follow.

He has moved on to even more of the interior and has worked on one side of the doors. Pretty wild stuff

Here are some pictures Ivan was talking about on how beefy the bracing and chassis support is on the X. Hence why she is such a fatty

Just curious as to why they kept the rear wiper fluid reservoir? I mean if they don't have a rear wiper, why have the fluid reservoir or is there something I'm missing? Other than that, wow that thing is going to be light. What are they doing power-wise to get this thing going?

The fluid reservoir is for front and back. Not just the back if I'm not mistaken

Well it was a logical progression... I asked why they didn't take it off, and they responded to the effect that it is where they put ALL of the wiper fluid....why they put it there IDK....with all the money they put into R&D i would have to assume they could find at least SOME space to put the wiper reservoir under the hood. :dunno:
