Well hot damn, that's pretty cheap. Should be a fun little ride. 160 hp and 2,400 pounds.

Fiat continues to roll out iterations of its subcompact 500. Following coupe and convertible models is the new race-inspired Abarth version. The 500 Abarth will cost $22,000 (excluding $700 destination fee) when it goes on sale this spring.

The high-performance version of Fiat's minicar trades the regular 101-horsepower, 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine for a 160-hp turbocharged four-cylinder. Other Abarth upgrades include a track-tuned suspension, dual exhaust, 16-inch aluminum wheels and specific exterior styling cues.

Inside, the Abarth comes standard with Fiat’s Blue&Me hands-free communication system, Bose stereo and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls.

Included in the 500 Abarth’'s price is a day of driver training from Richard Petty Driving Experience instructors.

Also.. the Abarth and Abarth Esse Esse have been out across the pond now since 2008. There's plenty of performance stuff now, just might have to get it from Europe. The "base" Abarth in Europe has 133 HP/152 TQ , the Esse Esse Abarth has 160 HP/152 TQ. Looks like we get the Esse Esse as our standard Abarth if I'm reading into this right.
