Well hot damn, that's pretty cheap. Should be a fun little ride. 160 hp and 2,400 pounds.
Fiat continues to roll out iterations of its subcompact 500. Following coupe and convertible models is the new race-inspired Abarth version. The 500 Abarth will cost $22,000 (excluding $700 destination fee) when it goes on sale this spring.
The high-performance version of Fiat's minicar trades the regular 101-horsepower, 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine for a 160-hp turbocharged four-cylinder. Other Abarth upgrades include a track-tuned suspension, dual exhaust, 16-inch aluminum wheels and specific exterior styling cues.
Inside, the Abarth comes standard with Fiat’s Blue&Me hands-free communication system, Bose stereo and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls.
Included in the 500 Abarth’'s price is a day of driver training from Richard Petty Driving Experience instructors.
