Lee Iacocca, a charismatic U.S. auto industry executive and visionary, who gave America the Ford Mustang and Chrysler minivan, and was celebrated for saving Chrysler from going out of business, died at the age of 94, the Washington Post reported.

Outside of the automotive business, Iacocca was appointed by President Ronald Reagan to head the foundation to raise funds for the restoration of the Statue of Liberty, and founded the Olivio company, which makes olive oil-derived food products and donates all the profits to diabetes research, which he was inspired to do after the death of his wife Mary from diabetes.

Back in the 80s auto loans and mortgages where typically in the 18 to 20% rate. The night before I bought my only new car ever he came on TV and said " If you buy from us I will give you 3 years at 3.6%, 2 years at 2.4 and 1 year at 1.9. Walked I to the dealership the next day and asked what was that about. The finance guy said I have no idea but here is 3 years at 3.6 vs the 18% you had.......Thanks Lee RIPName: user842_pic146_1234756384.jpeg
