ACTOR Rip Torn has been arrested after allegedly breaking into a Connecticut bank armed with a loaded handgun.
The boozy Dodgeball actor allegedly broke into the Litchfield Bankcorp building Salisbury, Connecticut, where he lives, at around 9.40 pm Friday (local time), according a police report posted on the gossip site TMZ.
TMZ reported that law enforcement sources said Torn gained access through a broken window.
The alarm sounded, and state police arrived to find the sometime 30 Rock actor packing a loaded revolver and "highly intoxicated", the report said.
The police report didn't say whether Torn intended to rob the bank or where inside the building he was found.
The 78-year-old actor, whose real first name is Elmore, was taken into custody without incident and jailed on US$100,000 ($112,500) bail.
