So as I was leaving the local Caseys, and turned my steering wheel, my blue turd made three pops and I lost all drivetrain power.
I know I am not out of trans fluid as I checked it every 3k on my oil change.
You could hear grinding but there was no power in forward or reverse... So I killed it and pushed it back into caseys. I looked for leaks... no leaks whew.
But then I grabbed the CV axles and the driverside was firm and very little play in the shaft, the passengerside however was looser than a 20 dollar hooker. I seen my boot was loose and not attached so I figured the elements finally killed the axle joint.
My questions...
How much of a pain is it to do the axle? Other than removing half the wheel assembly, how easy/hard is it to get it out of the trans? Is it similar to removing a cv axle out of a 4x4?
2nd and the most critical... If the part that goes into the trans and snapped and left the stud in the trans... How much of a pain would that be to remove?
Thanks!!!
