Coolant Flush?'s

Ive got an 04 s/c monte carlo with 33k on it, I figured its time for a coolant flush is there anything to look out for when doing this? ive already got a 180 tstat in there. I was thinking to get all the coolant out could I take the thermostat out an run the car like that until everything is clean?? then of course bleed it at the end

I have had decent luck in the past just following the flush bottle directions. Really just make sure you have enough room for all the old coolant/rinse. Don't put ice cold water into your radiator for the flush either, I walked out buckets of hot water from the sink.

I just did this the other day on my Impala.

I removed the thermostat and the lower radiator hose used a garden hose and stuck it in the thermostat housing and let the water run for about 15 min. Turned the hose around and stuck it into the upper radiator hose and let it run out from the bottom of the radiator. Again did that for about 15 min. put everything back and filled it back up and everything is A_OK.

I did not want to risk damaging the water pump by running the engine dry so I might not got 100% of everything out but for a driveway flush it got the job done.

if yer gonna do it use the prestone neglected system flush to get rid of as much of the dexcrap/leak stop tablets/diaper shit dep on how baqd it is in there you may wanna drive around on it for a few days

youll also wanna backflush the heater core if your systems bad enough. also the perfect time to go to green and get rid of the organic acid bullsht

I'm planning on doing a flush soon too. Got all of the stuff for it, the Peak Flush Kit and the Peak Cleaner Liquid... Getting rid of Dexcool and going to Zerex G-05.
