Fuel pump question

While trying to fix my gremlin I replaced my fuel pump with an advance auto pump now fuel pressure is 45 lbs at idle and 55lbs on gas is this ok cuz I was at 58 with gm pump should I put gm pump back in and when I switched pumps I did prj fuel pump hot wire t

I don't personally trust the off the shelf auto parts fuel pumps at all. I have had issues with them going back at least 5 years now. They "universalized" the pumps for L67/L36 and have had fuel delivery problems even with the rewire kits...not always, but enough times to avoid them now.

I pretty much tell everybody to get a hotwire and a racetronix/walbro type thing because it always works.

When my pump went out I went to Carquest and got the Delphi one. Ever since then the pump has been running strong.
