blower motor resistor

So today I leave for work and my heat is blowing like its on 3. It will go higher, but no lower. I had to pull the fuse to get it to turn off. A buddy told me it needs a resistor. I did a Google search, but didn't find anything that helped. Is this behind the glove box? How hard to replace?

I bought a used one of Morad for cheap last fall. It is just in an awkward (back-breaking) place and pain in the ass to do. There is a harness or two you need to unclip and a couple of bolts.

Phat said it's pretty easy to change the resistor as long as you have the right tools. I didn't have the right ones and gave up in 20min. There's a screw in the back that's a bitch to get to, so i just left it for a rainy day and just use 5, cause that's the only one that works

What I did was just take out the visible screws and then wiggled it out. That's what the repair procedure for All Data said to do so I did that and it worked. Took no time once I finally got the bolts out. I have a very basic set of tools as well.

And I also took the blower motor out. Takes all of but 5-10 minutes and makes the job hella easier.

this makes it seem easy, but I have very limited time to get it done tomorrow.
