Info needed on l67 car's

My roommate is either looking into a grand prix gtp or a regal gs. What is a good price to pay for one with around 50k and one with around 100k? anything to look out for when purchasing one? from what i have read the trans is the weak link, can they withstand the power of a pulley, intake, dp back setup? any other vital info would be greatly appreciated.

Seems these days people with low mile cars are asking a premium. Id be more concerned with the condition of the car over miles. Rust is a big issue with cars in this area. Not to mention finding a low mile car will be hard. Trans is hit or miss. Some people blow a trans every year in a stock car and some people have heavily modded cars with a original trans. I think its all about how you drive and maintain it.

With any used L67 id recommend you change all fluids, fuel filter, plugs wires, lim gaskets, VC gaskets, SC gasket etc.

Get a GS, I'm not biased or anything

whats the price for hte 50k vs the 100k ones?

Make great dailys even with minor bolt-ons, engines will run forever plus your roomie has got quite a few folks in the area that know their shit!

Here is a few we have found on the internet
He has a budget of under 7k and would like to keep it under 100k miles

yeah, i paid 7k for my car 4 years ago with 78k miles. common leaks are valve covers, oil pan, and intake manifold gaskets. valve covers should get covered under a recall. trans are hit or miss, check for good fluid, irregular shifting and noises. otherwise theyre good beater cars, ive put 20k a year on mine, never had any problems that werent a result of my driving habbits
