GM PK3 Key

I bought a GM PK3 key from ebay for 10.00. I went to walmart and had it cut and it works perfectly. My car runs and everything. I only had one key so I decided I needed a back up. I did notice that the security light keeps flashing. Does anyone know if there is a way to get it to stop??

If you have a fuel pump re-wire the car will continue to run, if the car was still stock fuel wiring it would shut off. I say this because that key isn't working in your car, it's just running because there's something overriding your security system which is supposed to disable the fuel pump. Since it can't disable the fuel pump you can continue driving your car, but with a flashing security light.

PK3 should kill the fuel pump as well as injector pulse...iirc PK2 was the system that only affected the fuel pump itself

Blue car has pk3, doesn't shut off due to re-wire, hence why i posted that

usually it doesnt, i see it alot when i get a security problem at work, the fuel pump primes, it starts and dies because after it starts the pump is disabled

usually if the code is off on the passlock/key systems it will usually start and run with the light on/flashing. It doesn't mean it won't randomly go full tamper and leave you stranded somewhere.... if it doesn't get a code at all, full tamper mode.

Reprogram it and save yourself the possible future trouble
