Depending on where you get the PCM connector piece, that isn't too bad of a price.

My offboard is bad ass. It has a box with two lighted toggles that simulate +12v constant (on/off) and 12v ignition (on/off) (you need to switch the ignition lead on/off to commit certain changes to memory in the PCM...such as VIN mumber.)

I also have it configured to run off of a AC/DC adapter or off the car battery.

I have about $60-70 in parts to build it.

If someone wants info on how to build one...feel free to shoot me a PM.

dumb question, but why is this useful?

say you have a bastard child of an 03.5 GP....and ya just feel safer flashing the PCM without the rest of the serial buss on the line, isolate it, from the chance that power will get interupted/etc

i bet tommy's offboard has a lockout on the KOEO switch to keep it from being acidently turned off and at the least there's no chance at all for the start function of the ignition switch to fuck ya over (just ask al about how he bricked his first pcm in the 442 lol)

i've got all the parts i need for my combo board
old train set powersource/panel, obd2 connector and 96-03 and 04+ connectors

just need the time to toss it together lol
