I guess we will be recieveing it some time in May and I will use it to help remodel my bathroom and put some towards a Vanguard Roth IRA.

I will spend it/save it better then the government will, thats for sure.

I just hope they dont earmark to many "extras" onto this bill that will never be taken away and just create more dependents on the system for life.

so if you make under $75,000 you don't pay taxes horist?

The whole point is stimulate the economy and help those who are struggling.
And you're not getting any less than you would any other time, you're just not getting that extra that the "rest" of us will be.

Royal, there are pretty much no earmarks left that you would have a problem with from what I've heard/read. So there aren't any additional unemployment benefits and I forget what else they were trying to tack on.

But to answer the question personally I'm going to use it to help pay my bills.

Because I need it. With this insane prices at the pump and in my mailbox for heat and electricity an extra little bonus will be welcomed.

That's not what I said... I just think it's BS that someone that doesn't pay any taxes (doesn't pay in) gets anything back yet I do pay in and get nothing ... I have no problem w/those that pay in getting money back... just kinda BS that the limit is there yet people that net a couple grand get $$$

Alright I wasn't sure what you meant by what you said.
You can take solace in knowing that nothing is actually changing for you, and that those people who are only making a few thousand a year truly need it (not sayings its deseved or not just saying its probably needed in most cases).

But my understanding was that if you made under $3000 you didn't get anything. Anyone have a link to an article or official release of details?

from asking other friends that sounds right.... BUT if you make below 8750/year you don't pay any income tax (federal)

so losers (if you're still being claimed by your parents this doesn't apply) ... they get money back

Lots of people get more free money (and sounds like per kid the money increases to no limit .. minimum wage job makes more than 8750 .... so i'd guess this means if you're a welfare mom with 20 kids by 19 different fathers you get 6600 free money)

Now if you work your ass off at a job that pays decent.... do something that there are only a couple of thousands that do the same world wide, spend many hours a day of your own time reading books and technical documentation.... you get nothing

Maybe I should shoot for the extra unemployment and food stamps! :p

Sorry... I don't post much about this kinda stuff... but I've worked my ass off to get to where I am, I've spent several a nights reading books, buying software, etc... so that I can be the best at what I do... I get nothing, yet people that don't make enough to even pay fed taxes get free money! I bet this won't even affect the 10k I spent last year for my masters degree ... and I still need to spend 4 times that to finish.....

Don't make much ... free money... make "too much" ... fug you .... Socialism rocks :)

(for anyone getting money back now this deal looks great, and it is ) .... just think about when you're not rich, but you've dedicated your life to learning and becoming the best you can... . you make average income for your career and experience level (I won't mention the stresses in my career, the number of times I've been or have been attempted to be outsourced) ... then the feds give people that don't pay income tax and give the money... yet you've woirked your ass off to get to where you are... but the feds decide you' make too much money ... and people that put NOTHING into the system are better worth the money ....
