3800 tranny whine

when I am moving there is a whine in the center of the car. The faster i get the faster the whine.
any theories?

i'll throw out the funny question... you supercharged? :lolsign:
only when your rolling? when was the last time the tires were rotated? if they are cupped really bad it can make funny noises...
does the sound change pitch on different surfaces at the same speed? is the pitch dependant on vehicle speed of engine speed? does the sound go away in neutral while moving?
need more info...

yeah supercharged

the sound depends on speed at 70 you can barely hear it but it gets louder the slower it gets.
it does not start making noise till about 25
shifting in neutral doesn't help
but it does not make noise sitting still

at 25 is that under light accel (after the 1-2nd shift?)

any change with more throttle/vs light thrittle?

at 25 its under any accel
there is no change with throttle it only changes with speed

when was the last time the tires were rotated? are the treads cupped? its either that or PS low or the noise is from the trans final drive geartrain....

Yeah I was gonna say PS fluid. My car did the same thing when my PS cap managed to disappear itself somehow a couple months ago and all my fluid got pumped out..
