3800 NEED HELP

I knew I should have replaced it, but I didn't. I have the GT trans in my GTP, and the axles are different. So, has anyone swapped diff's IN the car?? I have the service manuals, but they explain it while the trans is out of the car. If I can't do it in the car, I'll just go to the junkyard and get a GT axle for the time being, but if it isn't toooo bad, I'll swap it. Pretty much I just need to know how to get the snap ring inside compressed so I can slide the diff out. IE, special Macgyver tool someone has figured out, ect.

You dont remove the snap ring. Get a nice sized flathead screwdriver or chisel in between the end of the output shaft and the pinion shaft on the diff, hit it hard with a hammer and the diff will pop off.

but how do you get to it??? Motor is in the way.

Exactly how steve said. We did Pauls LSD that way. It was a little cramped, but with the car on jackstands and the passanger wheel off it is accessable.
