when i step on it and get the RPMs up to 4500 then let off the gas there is a loud backfire what is it from, i have straight exhaust could it be from no back pressure?

lol its definitly from the straight pipe..... dont let off the gas so dramatically when your that high of RPM just let off and HOLD half way until the car shifts up for you. Much better for the trans.

SRT 4's are designed to backfire on purpose though. They're tuned to dump extra fuel into the chanber when you let off the gas to make it sound intimidating. Someone at Dodge was bored I think.

LOL. I almost bought one instead of the GTP. You can make 'em fast as Hell, but it costs too damn much and you get Neon build quality. Perhaps in the future I'll get one as a toy. In the mean time I'll stick with the GTP and perhaps get myself another DSM.
