3800 heavy vibration

Well, lately, my car has had this heavy vibration when accelerating. when i take off , the car has a heavy vibration and then shifts and then vibrates while i am still accelerating. this is not at wot, just cruising. the car also vibrates a ton when coming to a stop. i did not know if the rotors are warped, but it has the same vibration accelerating/decelerating. i just took the car for an alignment and it was fine, and it still has the heavy vibration.

Think it's trans related?? I do not have any experience with a bad trans so I do not know what symptoms or what not deal with bad trannies. Thanks

The acceleration part sounds like a loose torque converter, but the decel and not-wot thing threw me off. Sounds like your clutch bands got burnt and are sticking? Could it be the input/outout shaft bearings?

Anyone else want to chime in with their thoughts?

May not be the trans at all. You said it was noticeable after the alignment, and your car is lowered. It might just be the driveshaft angle.

i took the car to get an alignment thinking it would help the vibration, but the vibration is still the same as it was before i got the alignment. i know some people have said they have vibration after lowering the car, maybe this is what they are talking about ???

could it possibly be a bent rim??? I know when I had my first set of white wheels on the car there was a bad vibration throughout the car, and when i went back to my wimter steelies, it was perfect...... Any curb checks lately? Just throwing out possibilities. I will alsoask my dad and see if it could be tranny related and post up.

oh, also make sure wheels are properly bolted on with no clearence or debris inbetween wheel and disk, maybe you bent a stud and wheel is not mounting up right. Sometimes this can happen and not cause any problems with steering other than vibration.

i know that i have not bumped a curb at all. when i put the tires on, they all seem to go on fine. i have taken them on and off alot lately and the vibration has been the same for all the times i have taken them on and off.

maybe it all your massive power from the engine causing the ground below it to tremble in fear of being ripped up???
