3800 Need tips on first time waxing...

Hey whats up...well, what i would do is this:

You want a nice shine and smooth finish:
-Wash it clean
- Get megiuars Yellow Wax #4 (Do it by hand.)
- Get megiuars (I THINK) is called #26 finishing polish. (makes it look like glass)
Also, by hand.

You want a Glass Look and smooth smooth finish:
- Wash and dry clean
- Get Megiuars Yellow Wax #4 and Buff it on with a buffer
- Get the finishing polish and polish it on...(buffing really)
Buffing is the key.

You want a WET and GLASS Look and Ultra smooth finish:
- Call me! LOL
- Wet sand the entire car down with 1000 grit.
- Buff the 1000 scratches out with some buffing compound.
- Polish the metal with some polishin glaze..
- Buff the yellow wax on.
- buff the finishing polish on.

And thats it.

Buffing is key, you'll get a much better out come!
Hope this helps...i bought alot of the waxes at LEE auto...autozone didn't have it....good luck.!

Carnuble wax is great goes on easy and comes off easy. If you do wax makes sure you hit small paches in a square action of closing form, like this way less swirll marks are noticiable. Oh make sure you dont leave the wax on there for very long like some dum asses do, it will mess up your paint especially if left out in the sun. Try using this clay stuff forgot the name of it. Its basically a clay bar and some liquid. It removes all the crap(especially overspray) from the paint before the wax. Works almost like a buff, alright not that good but good enough. Oh before wax add a tad bit of water to spung, wax will go on smoother. ;)

WAX ON WAX OFF! LMFAO

The Karate Kid was one of the reasons to go to the movies in the '80s. It tells the story of a new kid in town, Daniel (Ralph Macchio), who is tormented by rich karate aficionados. In order to confront them in a tournament, the kid gets tutored by a handyman, Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita). The old man teaches Daniel that the heart and mind are more important than fists. One day, he has the kid wash cars, telling him to "wax on" with one hand and "wax off" with the other. In the end, Daniel realizes that washing cars served as karate practice.

BTW J.E.T. - yer old :lolsign:

Hey...thanks for the tips guys. One more question. What if I wax the car in the garage so the sun won't hit it? Good idea or not? Thanks...
ALWAYS wax a car in the shade!
also more is NOT better when putting wax on...try using a damp applicator, or even mist the surface with a spray bottle as you go....a thin coat is all you need
