3800 Trans Help

This afternoon I was just changing my trans fluid on the car and pulled out the filter. When I pulled this filter this little piece fell out with it (I probably bumped it) Below in the picture is the piece set back in, but do I have this in the correct way or should the "tee-pee" kink be facing the other direction? I dunno if this makes any sense but I am no trans guy so before I put anything back together I want to make sure this is going in correct?

And if someone does know, what the heck does that piece do and the other little one behind it?

Say what? I have no idea what a "KENUNTENVALVE" is?
Can you go into some more detail?
This is the first time changing any trans fluid for me, and I just want to get the filter back in and tidy this up.
I just dont know what direction that thin aluminum piece is supposed to face?
