3800 Staying downtown...?

All,

I'm planning on coming up north to the Windy City next weekend (Oct 1st - 3rd) with the ol' lady and I'd like to stay downtown. Reason for this is so I can park my car Friday night and not have to worry about driving around all weekend. I've got some ideas on where to go, eat, etc.....except the hotel prices are rediculous. I've tried all the good web sites to check for cheap hotel prices and the good ones are still around the $200/night range  . I heard Hotel 71 is pretty cool, but it's $199/night....call me cheap, but I think that's bad. Any ideas? I found the Ramada on Lake Shore for $92/night....is that close enough to "downtown"? Thanks in advance.

We stayed at the Alerton Crown Plaza on Michigan last year and they were pretty reasonable. I'd book it on their web site and it was cheaper than hotels.com. Real nice old fashon hotel. Check 'em out......

Also a nice place to stay is Tailbot on Deleware, not sure of their prices now.

and another is the Tremont on Chestnut. Mike Ditkas resturant is attached for some good eating.

All of these are right downtown by the Magnificent Mile.
Good luck!

no matter where you stay downtown you will still have to pay for overn ight parking so when you book your hotel make sure you ask what they charge for guests parking overnight! Good luck Personally I love Embassy suites there are 2 downtown locations...most hotels have shuttles and buses you can take to sight see ect...
Good luck
