if i strip every non-essential object in my gp, will i notice the acceleration. Is there a formula to calculate...for instance, you remove 100 lbs. of weight, you lose a 1/2 sec. in the 1/4 mile? let me know some feedback here thanks

I think its 100lbs is worth a tenth. Make your mind up...street or strip.

100lbs a tenth or 1000 a second. GP's are heavy, but if you are trying to cut weight, lower your rotating mass and unsprung weight. You'll get the best returns there. Every 1 lb of unsprung weight is worth 4x that of sprung weight. The rules of weight reduction are less effective at lower et's, but so is HP. It starts to get really difficult to knock off ET the faster you go. Light wheels/tires/brakes/rotors are the easiest way to go.

It's pointless to drop weight and in my opinion, it takes away from the whole purpose of driving a Grand Prix over a Mustang. I want a fast, comfortable daily driver. If it's missing door panels, seats, carpeting, padding, etc, the comfort level quickly falls by the wayside.

I agree with Mike. Unless you are just going to use your car at the strip and have another car for you everyday driving comfort.

Yes, make more power and drive it....Doesnt mean you cant do a little reduction...Bumpers ect. Trade your spare for a AAA card. NOS. Stop eating.
