Steve, most sane people won't. If you opt for a mechanical gauge, mount it on the hood. I wouldn't mount one in the cockpit.

If you opt for the electrical gauge, try to find a used one with the old grey autometer sending unit. This is really the only acceptable sender for a rising rate fuel system like ours, but Autometer does not make it anymore.
