3800 Center Counsel

Does anyone have pictures of a custom setup they did in this area? I am thinking of trying to mount something in the area and was curious what products people used to fill this in? I am guess some kind of a plastic or something that you just cut out to fit the area. Any help would be appreciated, cause I know everyone here is creative!

It sounds like you want to mount a gauge cluster in there... or an EQ... which is it?

Mike made a really cool setup for Adam. It's fiberglassed and painted with 4 gauges mounted in it.

I am actually trying to mount this in the area...

The dimensions are 3.75 in W x 4.3 in x H 1.25 in D so I know it will fit, just want it to look clean.

I've seen some use plexiglass. Paint it on the side that way it doesn't seem 'cheap'. Use some sort of adhesive to mount it to the counsel.

Hey I should get it tomorrow in the mail, so I am going to install it tomorrow night. The Commander is supposed to be really sweet and it is nice that it it not to big an bulky. I will have to post some pics of the install when I am done, I am just trying to be creative with how to do it... h34r:

Well, I also made a gauge pod down there. Used plexiglass as the base, attached some Autometer angle rings, and fiberglassed the transition to them. Its not perfect, but only the second time I had played with fiberglass:

Also, i took out the ashtray so I could still use the cubby hole for stuff.
