3800 Where do I run the wire

for performance shift?? I installed the GTP shifter, but I left the wires under the center consol. I was not totally sure where in the firewall to run the wires to get to the PCM. Any help could help. TIA.

you can punch thru the grommet that the steering column goes thru the firewall. That is what I used.
also there is a grommet just left of the center of the firewall about halfway down. you can punch thru that too.
if you use that one, you will want to go from the engine compartment into the cab with the wires since it is right behind the hvac system and it is a Biznotch to get your hands back there to feed the other direction.

I'm not sure if I should be telling anyone this or not.

But that rubber grommet was BITCH for me, and even ripped part of it off when I tried to use pliars...there was no getting through it for me.

Soooo, I drilled a hole right above my exhaust about 1/4" wide, straight into the bottom of my floorboard, under my drivers side carpeting. Works wonders.

Well, thanks to Hale, I have connection to the PCM, but it still wont work. I am thinking that I either dont have a good connection from the shifter button to the wires, or the button on the shifter could be bad. Then again, maybe I have the wires plugged in the wrong way on the shifter. Is that possible??

you connected the other wire from the switch to ground right?

I can help you take a look at it if you go to the caspers day.

Yea its grounded and we moved it to other spots. For some reason the light isn't going on and the car isn't skip shifting. So either he got the wrong pin number or something not sure. I don't normally work on gt's

THe pin is connected to 21 on the PCM and it is grounded. I took it apart again to mess with it and it still isnt working. I appreciate it SnM if you check it out at the caspers day.

Hmm never thought about that but don't the clear have a set of numbers and then the blue a set?? Like clear 1-50 and blue 50 -100. Thats what I thought anyway,never really looked into it except for when I was tracing down a short in my car.
