yes, it can be. That is why I broke my input shaft. The chain was all fagged out, and ready to fall apart, my clutchs were like new, and 3rd gear still had factory print on it. The chain had so much slack, that it put too much pressure on the shaft, otherwise I dont think I would of broke it yet. The links were coming apart.

I dont think it had anything to do with s/k on max... :lol: ya, right..

According to the trans shop my single chain was stretched.

I havent had a chance to send it back to Mike and see how far is stretched or even if it was stretched at all

any chain is gonna stretch, its a fact, just the single is stronger.

I had Mike rebuild my 4T65E back in Sept. Chain needs to be R&Red with a single unit. He also had his own imput shafts. The only reason GM went with the double is to cancel out the noise. The single chain is the hot lash. When we pulled mine apart I had stretch too with only 43k on it.

Even if it is not stretched when you open it up, I would do everything possible because the one thing you do not change will be the one thing that breaks.
