water pump

I'm thinking my water pump may be in its way out. I'm getting some chatter from the pulley and the car has been running a tad bit hotter than usual. And I mean very slight increase.

Is this something I can replace by access through the wheel well? Or what is the recommended way of attacking this.

You'll be done in no time and on your way home. Definitely take the signs of something going out a little more seriously so you aren't in a parts store parking lot fixing it.

By the time I noticed it was going out i was already on vacation. Before that it ran 2 notches hotter than usual and I chalked that up to it being hot and muggy. No real symptoms until the night before.

Either way. I got it fixed in just about 3 hours. And got home no problems the rest of the 500 miles we needed to go.

this video did help a lot. although i did need to remove the power steering pump in order to reach one of the bolts, as well as an idler pulley to reach another. but very good point of reference.

very possible. shortly after that was when i did notice it running slightly hot. but i had been using my a/c and it was hot out. so i didnt think much of it. temps didnt bounce around, no pulley chatter (until the end).

i am lucky i was close to a store that had the part in stock and didn't care that i worked on the car on the side of the lot.
