By the time I noticed it was going out i was already on vacation. Before that it ran 2 notches hotter than usual and I chalked that up to it being hot and muggy. No real symptoms until the night before.

Either way. I got it fixed in just about 3 hours. And got home no problems the rest of the 500 miles we needed to go.

1/2 mile probably killed it

very possible. shortly after that was when i did notice it running slightly hot. but i had been using my a/c and it was hot out. so i didnt think much of it. temps didnt bounce around, no pulley chatter (until the end).

i am lucky i was close to a store that had the part in stock and didn't care that i worked on the car on the side of the lot.
