Crossover leak

[DEEZUZ]

The crossover pipe that connects both exhaust Manifolds. It has a heat shield welded around it. Out of the seams of the heat shield, that's my exhaust leak. Is there flex pipe inside there? Where can I get a new one?

prolly has a crack in it under the heat shield, there is no flex under it, i think i used the one i had maybe turbocharged400sbc has one, or a junk yard

I've never seen a crossover pipe rusted through under the shield or otherwise ....but there's a first time for everything
most likely it's the doughnut at the rear manifold junction
be real careful with the rear manifold crossover bolts they love to snap off
I don't know if I have one but I know I'm running low

The front dosnt have a seal to leak, the rear has a metal ring that smashes down to form a seal

so I mangled the dafuk out of the heat shield today, sure enough, that bastard ass crossover is leaking like a sive. ordering one from ZZP... $60 compared to $250 from GM. and I wont risk a used one... Soaking the bolts in deep creep til parts come in... fucking gasser exhaust...

got this fucker off today. only broke one bolt in front off.. I brought home a mini conductor, heated everything out. I took the heat shield off and the pipe has a 2-3 inch size crack.. no rust, nothing.. just a plain old crack... weirdest thing ever.
