3800 New headers?

Headers can be done in sterling, just the exhaust manifolds need the hotter coating. Ive got the sterling on my crossover. It's very nice. They can do colors, but they come out flat. The blue will prolly come out kind of light and may look more of a baby blue.

I e-mailed him asking about the headers, and this is what he said (sorry for the length):

James,

It would run $220 to coat your parts inside & out with our 2000 finish.
There is no difference price-wise or performance wise between the
various 2000 colors. Just whatever you like best. I've attached a
picture of them. That price includes all necessary cleaning as well,
unless they are chrome or nickel plated. We'll need them here for about
5 days plus shipping time. Return shipping would be $.

I will send you our full information package to get you all the coating
benefits in greater detail. It will not turn colors like chrome or
stainless. Also it lowers under-hood temperatures by 40 degrees, keeps
the pipes 25% cooler and gets you 1-3% extra horsepower. Of course,
it's highly rust resistant as well - 140x better than paint. Because of
that we expect it to increase part life be 10x or more.

All parts receive a 3 year unlimited guarantee that covers chipping,
peeling, cracking, discoloration, rusting - anything. New parts also
get a lifetime rust through warranty as well.

Please ship your parts to:

Jet Hot Coatings
5602 Orchard Rd
Pascagoula MS 39581

Just be sure to include your name and return info so we know who they
belong to and specify the finish of your choice. As for billing, you
can either include a credit card number with the parts or you can call
one in to the phone number listed below.

Thanks

Like hale said.. if you are shooting to run with the big boys.. togs are the only way to go. Otherwise I see no reason to spend the extra money on them, or deal with the fit problems that SLP have shown. I have S&S headers, jet hot coated. LOVE em. They may be coming on the market.. depending IF i sell the gtp and if the person i sell it to wants them or not. If i had to do it all over again i would get the S&S, but i would be more prepared for the actual cost of them. After buying them, coating them, and then getting the extra exhaust work needed to put them on it came out near $800, but i was a moron and got raped by a sleazy exhaust shop owner to get the extension made. If you plan on doing this find someone on this forum that can do the welding for you so you can reuse your old cat. Once it comes off of the car it is techinically illegal for any exhaust shop to remount it... I found that out the hard way. Don't make the same mistake.

If i do sell mine they will be sold at the cost of buying them new, but they will have all the exhaust work that needs to be done, done. So that makes up for them being used.

Actually nothing illegal about having them put a cat on for you. Nick got his done after we did his togs in his Regal. They charged him 150 for the work. He had the cat some hi-flow and a 24 inch res. and the muffler. They just supplied the pipe and labor. Seemed like a pretty decent price. But any exhaust shop can put a cat on for you.

It's illegal for them to take a used cat and put it back on. And as far as teh law is concerned if you take them your cat after it has come off of the car then it is used. If it isn't on there when you get there it is not allowed to be put back on. Stupid EPA. WHat you should do is install the headers, then just wire together the header dp and the stock downpipe and drive to the exhaust shop and tell them to make it fit.
