should i just get the code removed. get a pre-tuned PCM? no idea where to go with this.

want no drivability issues, just to remove the cat and up the MPGs as I drive a lot for work.

Replace fuel filter, plugs, wires, pcv, air filter and add some good injector cleaner before you even think about tuning for more mpg. Also mods like headers add mpg, buy some.

IIRC the cat needs to be replaced regardless of mods. I believe in the other thread he said it is rattling and causing other issues, so if he is going to be working on the cat already then I agree with his current plan to do it once and do it right the first time.

Any scrapyard. I don't know what is local around your area. Should be able to get 60-80$ for it.

i'll call tomorrow.

Yeah that's just scrap metal. Catalyct converters have platinum or some shit in them.

I see where you got confused though, I was also expecting funny pictures, GIFs, adorable kittens, and other feline shenanigans in the thread.

you would notice a bigger increase in mpg by airing you tires all the way up than taking your cat off, unless its totally plugged or close to it

exactly...at part throttle cruise/low load MPG friendly driving the cat isnt much of a restriction

at wot its removal is great...but that aint gonna help mileage much
