squirrels under my hood

my wife drives a 04 compG gtp and i popped the hood the other day to jump my car. and heard this. sounds like squirrels under my hood. couldn't pin point exactly where it was coming from, but somewhere in or around the SC snout. any help?

i thought thats what it was but wasn't 100% sure since i had never replaced one in all my 3800 years. how easy is it to swap a coupler out?

It's pretty simple. It took me like a half hour. Most of which was trying to clean off all the used oil that spilled

I used rubber tubing and a big syringe to suck as much out as I could. Still made a mess once you crack it open

take the hard plasic line from the FPR to the bbv solenoid off and it will let you get all the way in there to suck it all out.

I went out and bought one as well. Spent a good 10 minutes trying to see if I could get it all out with the syringe...and for some reason was coming up relatively dry on the syringe, until then I peeled the snout off and a huge splooge of it went all down the back and front of the LIM

Take any bottle of household cleaner (like Windex), remove the screw top with the pump and the straw and use that to get the oil out. It's free and works great.

gm recomends every 30k fyi

although i know people that have never changed it at over 100k

Pretty bad. Then it smelled like it for a couple of days afterwards as whatever I didn't sop up was burned off.

okay, so i have never fixed this because my car has been in the garage and my main worry...but this sound went away and now it is just a high pitch squeel...almost like im running a 2.0" pulley and constant WOT. lol

is the squeeling something else, or has the original problem just escalated?

Could be an idler bearing going. You can pull the belt and spin them by hand to feel
