couples trip to puerto rico was a good one with the ladies.

the boys trip to tx2k* were all awesome
How did you like PR, where did you stay, and did you do all inclusive?
Wife and I have been kicking around the idea of doing a 5 day in PR but have heard mixed reviews.
Also how was the food? I'm a sucker for good PR food, practically grew up on that shit, lol.

PR was excellent. We rented a condo for a week in Luquillo near a usually empty beach and ate delicious local food all week. We rented a car and did some day trips including the national forest. We have thrown around the idea of getting a condo there if we find one cheap enough.

i went on an all inclusive in mexico and it seriously may have tainted me so much that i really am unsure if i'd do another.

im not a food snob but i like good food...

What happened that you didn't like it?

I go to mexico once a year now, normally to Iberostar or Riu Palace Riv Maya, and i LOVE it. I speak spanish so it's nice to actually be able to use it, plus t it's basically 5-6 days with no obligations except to relax, play beach volleyball, eat lots of great food and go on excursions.

Eh, it can get old quick. I have stayed at some resorts that after day 2 I couldnt eat another thing from the buffet, lol. But I have been to others where it was really good. Place we stay at in Mexico all the time has around 7 different restaurants, so your not stuck with the buffet every night. Place we stayed in Jamaica the food was fucking awesome. No matter where we go on vacation, we also go out to town for dinner a couple of times which also helps.
We prefer all inclusive more so for the alcohol. We usually travel with 12-20 people total. We definitely get our moneys worth at the bars.

We stay right down the street to the RIU in Riv Maya at Grand Palladium and the food there is good for the most part. Stayed at Riu Palace in Negril and the food was phenomenal!

everything.

food. drinks. accomodations. all SHIT.

lunch all inclusive option was hamburgers hot dogs or cheese quesadilla...

the restaurants on property were terrible.

the drinks were shit.

so many hilariously awful stories it was out of control. im 6'5 and went to adjust the shower head and it BROKE THE FUCK OFF THE WALL and then never got fixed.

our "hotel mini bar" was 2 warm dos equis a coke a sprite and a diet coke.

the beach was basically shards of coral.

all but one bar would close at 10pm.

trip advisor has it at 4 stars SOMEHOW, google has it at 4.2 for reviews... listed as a 3 star hotel.

our "ocean view room"'s balcony was basically direct line of sight with the main restaurant porch- about 15' away basically.

their latest reviews shadow what we experienced...

Would not spend my money here again
Upon arrival the bell hop was very nice and they greeted us with cold juice while we checked in. We were presented with bogus "coupons" to use on their massages which were outrageously priced. The entrance to the resort is very misleading. The food is sub par and not much variety. Do not order a hamburger at El Patio. I doubt its beef. The wait staff seems unhappy and annoyed (with the exception of a few). Our A/C broke and was never fixed the whole time. Our sons room had water leaking from their A/C and soaked their suitcase full of clothes. There was a steady stream of ants along our bathroom mirror and on our coffee station counter. Dirty dishes were rarely taken away and I never got fresh coffee mugs. I might go again for the clear water and pretty fish...if it was free.

Keep your expectations very low
Stayed here with my family. There were 10 of us in 4 rooms. None of us will be back. There are only 3 restaurants for the entire resort. Only one of the 3 is open for breakfast. There is no room service. Plan on waiting for seating and waiting for all of your meals. Be ready to be assertive in order to actually get a table. We properly placed our name with room number on the list just to have others walk in after and claim a table without using the hostess. The food was poor-fair. In order to have your fridge restocked, you have to call the front desk at least 3 times per day. If you are taking children with you, take snacks!

When we arrived, there were dirty dishes, literally a plate with a half eaten hamburger on it, in front of our door and about 30 dirty drinking glasses in front of our children's door. The next afternoon, we removed the drinking glasses ourselves. The plate remained until we alerted the front desk in person. This would have been the 4th time we reported the rubbish.

There are no elevators. When we arrived we were given a room with 2 full sized beds. When we requested the room we had reserved, one with a king bed, we were moved to the third floor. The building our room was in was some distance from the main part of the resort. We packed a bag daily in order to have the time-wasting walk back to the room throughout the day.

In front of the resort, there was a burned out VW and piles and piles of trash.

i wouldn't even go there if it was free. honestly.

I went to Poland and London last year for a 10 day trip. The girlfriend and I stopped in Poland for 4 nights to visit her family who lives just outside of Krakow. Then we went to London where we spent 5 nights.

I enjoyed Poland more than I expected. The people were awesome and there is a ton of history and significant landmarks from WWII. Krakow is a beautiful city with a lot to see and do.

I really had a good time in London though and would definitely go back. I'm a history nerd so I thought it was awesome to visit the old cathedrals and see the tombs of the people I've read about in history books as a kid. Aside from that, it's a big city with a lot to see and do. People were friendly and it was easy to get around everywhere on foot, or by taxi.

id do another all inclusive if i was able to stare into the eyes of someone i trusted who had been there and they assured me it was going to be good
Sounds like you were at a pretty shitty resort that ruined your all inclusive expectations. What was the reason you picked that resort and why Cozumel?
Dont get me wrong Cozumel is cool, but only for a day or 2 imo. You can do the whole island on a scooter in a few hours. If you stay in Riv Maya or Playa you could take a ferry to Cozumel roundtrip for like $10. We usually go to Cozumel to snorkel, shop, and get lunch 1 day out of our trip.

that's exactly 100% what happened

some friends of ours picked it, i looked it up , saw 4 stars on tripadvisor, 4.2 stars on google, great reviews on american airlines website (who we booked entire vacay through), great reviews elsewhere, etc., went for it.

best part was when we got there, there was people (who i believe now were planted there because of how shitty it was ) RANTING to us about how much they loved it there and how many years theyd been going.

but yeah we greatly regretted it.
